The Armed Governance project is a systematic evaluation of governance behaviors by armed actors in Mexico between 2000 and 2022. The project rests on the information provided by hundreds of local experts from Mexico.
The project analyzes the behavior of:
- Criminal organizations.
- Self-defense groups.
- Government forces.
For each actor present at the municipal level, the study analyzes the following behaviors:
- Territorial control
- Violent actions.
- Economic extraction.
- Political influence.
- Security provision.
- Social control.
- Provision of public goods.
- Conflict and cooperation.
